The Traffic Counter Tester (TCT) can be used to test and certify an automatic traffic recorder
by simulating vehicles passing over a pair of road tubes. It is designed to allow you to test the
accuracy of your traffic counters in your office before placing them in the field to gather
important data. With it you can identify potential problems before they occur, saving time and
money. The TCT will work with any of the road tube counters and classifiers being sold today.

How It Works
The Traffic Counter Tester contains an advanced microcontroller that is capable of generating
low frequency charges. These charges cause vibrations in the simulator component of the Tester
that creates air pulses like those generated by a vehicle driving over a pneumatic road tube.
By matching the timings of the simulated pulses to those of know vehicle types, the Tester can replicate vehicle classes and speeds.
The Traffic Counter Tester is capable of simulating a wide range of vehicle classes, including all 13 classes in the Federal Highway Administration's
Scheme F. It can also simulate a wide range of vehicle speeds, from 5 to 80 MPH. These vehicle simulations can be done for a number of different tube
layouts. The Tester can be connected directly to one counter, or to two counters using the splitter Ts and extra connector hoses that are provided.
An adjustable Output knob allows you to vary the strength of the pulses that the Tester sends to the counter. With this you can easily gauge the
sensitivity of the counters air switches, and identify problems before they occur. Two LEDs on the front of the TCT light up when pulses are emitted.
