Introduced in 2007, the TRAX Flex HS improves upon the design of the older TRAX recorders by adding the
convenience of USB port downloading and the ability to upload firmware changes. It also greatly increases the
resolution of the time stamps, allowing for a much smaller spacing of the road tubes, making it compatible with the EZ
Belt Technology.
Data collected with the TRAX Flex can be analyzed in a variety of ways (such as volume, classification, speed and gap)
using our powerful TRAXPro software.

The Power of Time-Stamped Data - In recording its data, the TRAX Flex HS time-stamps every axle recorded during the count. With this time-
stamping, you can record one set of data and get traffic volume, speed, classification and gap data all from that one data set. What’s more, the time
stamp data actually lets you fix problems after the data has been collected.
With many traffic counters, if you set something up wrong the data collected would not be usable and there wasn’t anything you could do but recount.
However, with time-stamped data you can change things like the layout used, the tube spacing used and several others after the data has been
collected, reducing the need for recounting.
Reduce Errors & Simplify Installation - Most traffic counters require two tubes spaced at least eight feet apart to
record accurate data for speed, class or gap. With the Flex you can collect this data using a tube spacing of only 2
feet if using standard road tubes, or an incredible 4 inches if using the EZ Belt, which is a revolutionary new form of
road tube that eliminates the need to measure tube spacing in the field. More details...
Save Time and Money with Built-in Sensor Diagnostics
Few things are more frustrating than spending time & money to do a traffic study only to find out later the data is no
good because of a road tube problem. With a TRAX Flex HS, you can greatly reduce this possibility. Flex data
recorders use built-in diagnostics to analyze the strength of air pulses that are received from
road tubes. More details...
Coordinate data with GPS Compatibility
One of the great features of the TRAX Flex is its ability to load and store GPS coordinates. Simply plug your GPS
unit into a Flex and the Flex will retrieve and store exact latitude and longitude information. This information is then
downloaded with your study! More details...
Upload Firmware Changes - With the new TRAX Flex, you can update its firmware (the program that runs inside
the TRAX and tells it how to operate) with the same ease as updating software – simply download the latest firmware
version from our web site then, using the TRAXPro software, upload the new firmware into the TRAX Flex. You can
now do in minutes what used to take days or weeks to accomplish. No shipping, no downtime, no hassle.

USB Downloading - One of the most convenient new features of the TRAX Flex HS is the addition of a USB port for
use in downloading your data. Most older traffic counters use a serial port for downloading data, but many new
computers no longer come with a serial port for you to connect to. This usually requires you to use an extra adapter
to create a port on the computer that you can use. The USB connection of the TRAX Flex allows you to bypass this
issue, by allowing you to connect to any of your computer’s USB ports. And, since the USB port uses a standard
format, any USB cable you use to connect to a peripheral device (printer, scanner, etc.) can be used to download
the TRAX Flex.

Unmatched Processing Speed - The ‘HS’ in TRAX Flex HS stands for ‘high speed’, which best describes the processing speed of this unit. The Flex's
specially designed data processor allows it to record 16 times faster than the older TRAX Plus traffic counters, leading to much greater data accuracy.
With the speed of the processor, this TRAX has been optimized to collect highly accurate data using the smallest amount of tube spacing possible.
Increased Water Resistance - Several new features of the TRAX Flex HS make it more resistant to water damage
than any previous TRAX recorder. To start, the faceplate uses a membrane keypad with a sealed display and input
keys that eliminate the possibility of water entering the unit through these points if the lid is opened in the rain.
