TRAX GPS Compatibility Guarantee that your data was collected at the right spot!
One of the most unique features of the data recorders in the TRAX Plus and TRAX HS series is their ability to load and store GPS coordinates. These TRAX units support the NMEA protocol, which is a standard for the transmission of GPS data available in most GPS units. Simply plug your GPS unit into a compatible TRAX Plus or TRAX HS and the TRAX will retrieve and store exact latitude and longitude information. This information is then downloaded with your study! Once the data file has been saved to your computer, the GPS coordinates make it easy to access online aerial photos of the location using the TRAXPro software.
GPS Handheld Kit - for TRAX or Scanner
This kit is for using a handheld GPS receiver to upload GPS coordinates into a TRAX while you are in the field. The GPS receiver has been pre-configured for the correct output, so you need only turn it on and connect it to the TRAX (while the GPS data screen is on) to have GPS coordinates stored with your data file. Note that this kit will also work with the JAMAR Echo and Scanner data recorders.
