In 1978, James Martin founded the JAMAR Sales Company as a distributor of various traffic data collection equipment brands. The JAMAR Sales Company quickly established itself as one of the top sellers of this equipment in North America.
After years of selling other manufacturers’ equipment and often having trouble with those manufacturers being unresponsive to his customers’ needs, Mr. Martin decided that the only way to provide customers with the highest level of service and support was to have full control over the products he sold. This meant making his own.
The company’s name was changed to JAMAR Technologies to reflect the new direction of the business as not only a seller but also a manufacturer of equipment.
